Our team was created to celebrate our daughter, Vada Kay — a two-time Wilms Tumor survivor who is now almost 5 years in remission. While we are grateful for the treatments that saved her life, many of the chemotherapies she received were some of the oldest in the books and will cause lifelong side effects. This is the reality for too many families because only 4% of government cancer research funding is dedicated to pediatric cancer.

We believe our kids deserve better. That’s why we fundraise — to help move research forward and give children safer, more effective treatments.

This September, in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I’m joining The Million Mile to fight childhood cancer one mile at a time. Every step I take is for Vada Kay and for kids everywhere still fighting.
