We broke the Guiness World Record in June for the Biggest Cup of Lemonade and now we need your help to go 3,121 miles in September!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and it is time to go BIG or go home! Join team #BigLemonade on our #Journey2AMillion! Walk, bike, run and dance your way to Million Miles! Every step we take and track in September will add up to BIG awareness and a cure, one mile at a time!
We track our miles in September in honor of our beautiful girl, Lily. Lily is 9 and an ependymoma survivor. Diagnosed at 14 months old with this rare and malignant brain tumor, Lily endured numerous surgeries that left her unable to walk. Today, Lily runs! This September, Lily will continue to prove that she is a hero by joining Team #BigLemonade and going the distance for children everywhere! She will walk and run beside her two rockstar SuperSibs--Chloe and Nicholas--as well as all of you!
Our team mileage goal is 3,121 miles--the distance from our home to Roberts Proton Center at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. After a month at Children's Hospital of Philadephia, we traveled to MD Anderson for Proton Radiation treatment. While Lily was in her treatment each day (for 7 weeks), Mike and I would talk about our plans to host Alex's Lemonade Stands and help get us closer to a cure for our daughter and all children.
On September 1 at 3pm EST, we will all go our first mile together (more details on our fun, first virtual mile soon!)! Joining our team is free; but we'd love it if everyone who joins makes a small donation between $5-$20 (or more!!!) so we can fund some research too!
Thank you for joining us on this journey!
