In February, 2018, shortly after Brookie lost her father Howard Natal to a battle with Chronic Leukemia she discovered that he had been donating $500 a month to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a charity that helps fight childhood cancer. Inspired by his committment, and being a comedy major at Columbia, Brookie got her comedy and producer friends together and created a comedy variety show to raise money for the organization. The first LOL, organized and held just a month after his passing, sold out the venue and exceeded their goal for the charity. They have raised over $16,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand. This year LOL wants to go bigger and better!
After many months of planning, the second LOL will be held on April 5th at HVAC Pub in Wrigleyville. With the help of Funhouse Entertainment, this LOL will be a night to remember! And this year will also be a little bit different... Our committment to Alex’s Lemonade Stand is as strong as ever but this year we will be focusing both on finding a cure and on helping families living with cancer.
All we want is a cure, however, that takes time and we want to take action now. Every year, in honor of Howard Natal Brookie’s father, we will find a family who has a member living with cancer, and we will help them with their expenses. This year we have chosen #TeamNora. Nora is a highschooler diagnosed with liver cancer and we want to do everything we can to help this family out!
Come out April 5th! Come help us with these amazing causes! Come laugh, sing, drink, win big prizes, eat pizza, buy art, and so much more. Can’t wait to see you there.
