Alexandra “Alex” Scott

January 18, 1996 – August 1, 2004

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alex Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement and is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada. In loving memory of Alexandra “Alex” Scott, we remember a little girl whose courage was far greater than her years. While battling cancer herself, Alex chose to spend her time helping other children facing the same fight. What began as a simple lemonade stand in her front yard became a movement that has touched countless lives and funded lifesaving childhood cancer research. More than two decades later, Alex’s dream continues to live on through every cup poured, every dollar raised, and every family given hope. Her determination showed the world that one child can make an extraordinary difference, and her legacy reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting change. We honor Alex by continuing the mission she started—to fight for better treatments, more research, and ultimately cures for all children with cancer. As we gather together, we remember not only the remarkable little girl who inspired millions, but also the thousands of children and families who continue to face childhood cancer every day. May Alex’s story inspire us to keep giving, keep hoping, and keep fighting until no child has to hear the words, “You have cancer.” Her light continues to shine in every lemonade stand, every act of generosity, and every step forward in the fight against childhood cancer.

Fight Childhood Cancer,

One Cup at a Time.

After one whole year of fun, friendship, and making memories together, I would love for everyone we’ve spent time with to come together and give back to the children who need it most.

This year is especially meaningful. We will be hosting an official Alex’s Lemonade Stand event to raise money for childhood cancer research, specifically Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) — the same cancer that Nicholas bravely fought and defeated against all odds.

Today, nearly 90% of children diagnosed with ALL survive thanks to advances in research and treatment, but that still means too many families hear the words no parent should ever have to hear. Every year, children continue to lose their lives to this disease, and every breakthrough that saves a child begins with research. (Cancer.gov)

Nicholas is living proof that hope, determination, amazing doctors, and groundbreaking research can change a life. We are forever grateful for that gift, and now we want to help give that same hope to other families facing the fight of their lives.

We hope you’ll join us, but if you can’t make it, please know that every single dollar makes a difference. No donation is too small, and every penny goes directly toward funding childhood cancer research and helping bring us closer to a future where every child has the chance to grow up healthy and cancer-free.

Together, we can turn one child’s victory into hope for many more. 🍋💛
