Why I run:

Simply because I can.  Some people think I'm insane, but I love to run.  Every time I lace up my sneakers, it's a new challenge.  It's an opportunity for me to outrun myself, to push myself harder.  And who doesn't love those cool race t-shirts? 

Why I picked to fundraise for Alex's Lemonade Stand:

1. The causes of most childhood cancers are unknown. At present, childhood cancer cannot be prevented.

2. One in every 330 Americans develops cancer before the age of twenty.

3. Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the United States.

I only have to fight through 26.2 miles, a piece of cake compared to the diagnosis, treatment, and possible loss of a loved one, all battles that come with this disease.  Help me raise $1,000 towards the cure, better treatments, and a few more birthdays.
