Hi my name is Samantha Gromek and I am a student at the University of Pennsylvania. I have decided to run the Philly marathon through Alex's Lemonade Stand for three main reasons:

1. The causes of the majority of childhood cancers are unknown. Currently, childhood cancer cannot be prevented.

2. Childhood cancer occurs on a regular basis with no consistent pattern (ie. found in any ethnic group, socioeconomic class, or geographic region). In America, the incidence of cancer among adolescents and young adults is increasing at a greater rate than any other age group, except those over 65 years.

3. Raising funds will allow more research to be conducted with childhood cancer

I am required to raise a minimum of $1,000 but I am hoping to pass my goal! Please do not feel obligated to donate. Any amount of money is greatly appreciated and will support a wonderful foundation! Thank you for your time and consideration!
