Well, yesterday was the big day! It helped that the time fell back...I was up early and had a good high-carb breakfast before getting on my layers, grabbing my bib and water, kissing my two healthy (thank God) boys, and heading out the door. I wore a picture of Kurtis on my heart, too :-)
By 8:30 I was at the trail and met my friends there with their two boys, who rode their bikes between us as we ran. It was a crisp 35 degrees, with frost in the air and on the ground, but the sun was bright and the trail was beautiful!
I enjoyed the run - took the run slow and steady while listening to my favorite tunes, and took in all the beauty around me.
I finished in a bit over 68 minutes! Yay! Next I want to run a half-marathon, perhaps in the spring! I will keep training this winter and hope to get in a few more fundraising runs to keep fighting childhood cancer.
To celebrate, my hubby took me and our boys out for breakfast at Bob Evans! Mmmmmm....caramel mocha is sooooo yummy!!
