We were a little slow getting things done this year . . . but just mailed the check for the stand proceeds totaling $469.79!  Together with this year's online donations, Alyssa's 2nd annual "Lemonade for Rori" raked in $559.79 to help fund important research into curing childhood cancers.

Thanks to the Station Grill and Russ' Restaurant on Henry Street for placing money collection jars on their registers.  I think Alyssa counted up $30 from those, which is great!

So that's it for Lemonade for Rori 2010.  We look forward to seeing you next year - same place, same time, and roughly the same date!!!

Hi all.  New photos from the stand 2010 are posted here!

If anyone missed the news coverage, here's where you'll find it:

wzzm13.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=122588  (or www.wzzm.com search Alyssa Morin,  and www.fox17online.com/news/landing/fox17-alex-lemonade-benefit,0,3902608.story  (or www.fox17online.com, search Alyssa Morin.)

Something really cool happened early in the day.  If you view the Fox story, you'll see a brief interview with a guest named Ron Stephenson.  Ron was at a baseball game across the street when he noticed the ALSF sign.  He couldn't believe it - he had a personal connection with ALSF!  His grandnephew had traveled to Memorial Sloan-Kettering for treatment courtesy of Wings of Mercy.  But when a second trip was necessary, a paperwork snafu took them out of the running for a second grant from Wings.  ALSF came through for them with a travel grant of $2,000 - almost exactly the amount that Alyssa raised last year.

See what one little lemonade stand can do?

A rough tally of today's proceeds totals $435!  Yay!  (That figure does NOT include online donations.)

Both Fox news and WZZM were out and interviewed both Alyssa and mom . . .

We're tuckered out!

Thanks everyone!

Hey everyone,
I'm home sick today so I thought I would update this. The stand is in 3 days and we're doing pretty well so far. We haven't raised quite as much as last year(so far), but that could mean that we'll have more people come to the stand this Saturday. Thanks so much to everyone coming to the stand and everyone donating, it means so much to me and to Rori. Thanks for all your support and just Thank You for taking part in something so important.
Thanks again. (:

Rain or shine - right?

Welcome back, everyone, to Lemonade for Rori!  We just received word today from Roosevelt Park that Alyssa has been granted permission to use the tennis court site again.  The City Council, which has bigger things to deal with right now, were unanimous on this - very supportive and we appreciate it.  We also found out last week that again this year, Meijer of Norton Shores will supply lemonade and cups for the stand!  Isn't that awesome?  We thought so . . .

That is pretty awesome.
