Get STRONG with Cristiano this September to fight childhood cancer one mile at a time by participating in The Million Mile! During the month of September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month), ALSF has a goal to collectively run, walk and/or ride one million miles to raise funds and increase awareness of the need to support childhood cancer research. Alex is the inspiration behind Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer, before her first birthday. At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Later, she set an  ambitious fundraising goal - $1 million – and with the help of other kids and adults, she reached it!

We know first hand what research has done for Cristiano. First and foremost, Leukemia went from a 0% curability rate to 90% and just in recent years treatment was truncated by an entire year for boys. Treatment is now 2-1/2 years instead of 3-1/2. We hope in our lifetime we see treatment that is much kinder on the body and better yet, we hope to see prevention because what children endure is heart wrenching.
