Where
3 years ago Benny was diagnosed with A.L.L T-Cell Leukemia at just 6 years old. There are no words to express the emotional turmoil a parent goes through when hearing their child has cancer. The understanding is even harder when looking through the eyes of a child. Vito is Benny's brother, and when he found out his brother had cancer he made it his mission to go above and beyond what it means to be your brother's keeper. He never asked for more attention for himself or questioned why. Instead he would always be by Benny's side, asking him if there was anything he could do for him. He shaved his head after Benny lost his hair, included him in his own sports, always giving Benny the medals and trophies he'd win. If Benny couldn't be on the feild, Vito would make sure he'd be there with him in some capacity. This year we came to Holy Cross where our head coach took both boys in like his own sons making each a part of the team not just as a player and his brother, but brothers on the team. Through everything that Benny and Vito have gone through together, they want to do their part to give back to other kids who are in their shoes, just as the team wants to do as a family.
