Welcome to The Leukemia Slayer's Lemonade Days fundraising page! Jacob is 10 years old and was diagnosed with high risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on December 2, 2010 and will be in treatment until March 22, 2014. He receives treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, California.
Last year when we asked Jacob what he wanted for his birthday his instant answer was "a cure for cancer". This led us to host an Alex's Lemonade Stand, the perfect way for a boy with cancer himself to help raise money for childhood cancer research. We set a modest goal of $500.00 that year, but had such overwhelming support from friends, family, and strangers that Jacob was able to proudly announce his lemonade stand had raised $2926.00 for childhood cancer research!
Jacob is very excited to host his second annual Alex's lemonade stand this year to help find that cure. He would like to beat last years total donation, so he set a goal of $3000.00. Our stand will be held in honor of Jacob "The Leukemia Slayer" for his continued courage, smiles, and giving spirit while he shows Leukemia why it should not mess with The Slayer!
Come out and meet The Leukemia Slayer on June 9th! He will be serving up ice cold lemonade and answering questions about childhood cancer. If you can't make it to the stand on June 9th, you can buy a virtual cup of lemonade on this page :-)
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is committed to finding a cure for all childhood cancers. To date, they have funded over 200 research projects at more than 50 institutions across the country. The concept of “fighting childhood cancer, one cup at a time” has allowed people who would not usually participate in fundraising, especially children, to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer. Lemonade Stands allow children to be a part of the change, and to know you are never too young to make a difference!
