Hi,
This is Philip Omkar! I am three years old. I love learning new things such as alphabets, shapes and numbers, playing at the playground, helping mom and dad with grocery shopping, washing the car with dad, cooking with mom, gardening with ammamma / bujji, playing with thatha, reading books with Sruthi Auntie, chatting with Richard Uncle, singing with Abuela/Grandma, eating with Abuelo/ Grandpa,, spending time with friends both old and new, and just having fun growing up!
Even though I never got to meet my Aunt Kali, I'm learning so much about her by watching her photos/videos and listening to the fond memories of her that my mom shares with me. Kali Auntie and I have so much in common, just like her I love playing with babies and kids, learning new words every day, nature walks, spending fun time with my family and friends. She always wished everyone good health and brought joy by bringing people together. Inspired by her kindness, I want to continue honoring her memory by hosting my second Lemonade Stand Fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation on June 21, 2025! This will be a fun way to bring the community together to have a good time and also raise funds and/or awareness about a worthy cause.
Last year, thanks to the genorosity of my family, friends, and neighbors, we raised $365, which funded 7 hours of childhood cancer research! These funds help instituions like the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, University of Maryland, College Park to name a few that are working toward better treatments and cures.
I hope you will join me either in-person or virtually to show your support to let kids and their families know that they aren't alone in their fight against cancer.
Why Alex’s lemonade stand?
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. By the time Alex passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a worldwide fundraising movement and the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. ALSF is a leader in funding pediatric research projects across the globe and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
Thanks for your support!
