Join our family as we honor our brave and spunky Charlie with our first Team Laufer Lemonade Stand to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Every day, there are almost 40 new cases of childhood cancer in the US. On June 10, 2024, our then-3 year old middle daughter Charlie was one of them. Childhood cancer research and treatments are vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research dedicated to childhood cancers each year. ALSF’s research has directly impacted our family as Charlie was prescribed a targeted therapy that was FDA approved just 6 years earlier after its research and testing was funded by an ALSF grant. The treatment was far more effective with fewer short and long term side effects than other treatment options for thyroid cancer, helping to eradicate inoperable metastatic tumors in her lungs.

Today, the money you donate has the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of kids with cancer (and their families). Because childhood cancer research is underfunded, there are often only a few experts nationwide for specific types of cancer. Many families, like ours, have to travel across the country to access these experts and treatment options. The money we raise from our Lemonade Stand will be donated to the ALSF Travel for Care fund which provides critical funding for travel for families to help alleviate the financial and logistical burden of this part of cancer treatment.
