Hi, my name is Philip Omkar and I am 4 years old!
I love exploring my surroundings, learning new things, playing with friends, and helping my family. Some of my favorite activities include helping Bujji (Ammama) and Thatha care for their vegetable and flower garden, baking cupcakes with Mommy, listening to music with Daddy, watching soccer with Grandpa, playing with Grandma, building legos with Auntie, and spending time with Uncle. I also enjoy riding the school bus, learning and playing with my teachers and friends at Pre-K, and making new friends at the playground.
Even though I never had the chance to meet my Aunt Kali, I continue to learn about her through family stories, photos, and videos of her. My family tells me that she loved children, brought people together, and always wished good health and happiness for everyone she met. I am proud to honor her memory by hosting my 3rd Alex's Lemonade Stand fundraiser with the help of my family.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of our family, friends, and neighbors, we raised $306, which helped fund 6 hours of childhood cancer research. Every donation, no matter the size, helps researchers work toward better treatments and cures for children facing cancer.
One of my favorite parts of this event is serving lemonade to neighbors, friends, and family while bringing our community together for an important cause. I hope you will join me, either in person or virtually, to support children and families affected by childhood cancer and remind them that they are not alone in their fight.
Why Alex’s lemonade stand?
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. By the time Alex passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a worldwide fundraising movement and the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. ALSF is a leader in funding pediatric research projects across the globe and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
Thanks for your support!
