On June 13 this year we will hold a stand to Shred Cancer (and old documents as well) at the Jewish Community Center in Whitefish Bay. We will have a professional service at the JCC to safely shred sensitive documents for a free will donation to Alex's (Note: limit of three boxes). We will also have lemonade and welcome all donations. All money collected will go directly to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Even if you cannot attend, you can make a donation through this page. These are a few of the reasons why we are doing this. Every day, there are almost 800 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 300,000 new cases of cancer that affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research dedicated to childhood cancers each year.
