Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million.  

Childhood cancer research is consistently underfunded. Less than 4% of the federal budget for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancer. Did you know that 47 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every day? 

Freddie was diagnosed with PHIL-like B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in January of 2019. He was only 2 1/2 years old. Freddie spent over 150 days in the hospital throughout his first year of chemotherapy treatment. He experienced severe weight loss, stopped talking, stopped walking, had multiple surgeries for a defective g tube, a surgery for port placement, multiple lumbar punctures and bone marrow aspirates. All within the first 9 months. Over the last two years he has dealt with a fungal infection, pneumonia, covid TWICE, liver toxicity from treatment, and isolation due to being immunocompromised. On December 17th it was decided to stop Freddies chemotherapy treatment (a few months early) because his body was no longer able to properly fight off infections. Almost every weekend he was in the ER with a fever and some type of virus. Thankfully he is still in remission and as we get to almost 6 months off chemo, he is doing well. He is gaining weight and getting stronger every day.

 We are excited to participate in #LemonadeDays with @AlexsLemonade! We will be helping make lemons into lemonade for kids with cancer by hosting our own lemonade stand!  All proceeds from our event will go towards supporting research for better treatments and more cures for childhood cancer.  #teamfreddie #teamreadyfreddiego
