Good morning! Today is the last day to log miles. Thank you all so much for supporting this month-long challenge and for your efforts to raise awareness and funds to fight childhood cancer.

We are halfway done with our month-long challenge. There is still plenty of time to log miles. Remember everybody who participates on team Rhode Island Lemons will receive a custom lemon medal that reflects their mileage for the month of September.

Today is the first day of our month-long challenge.

I didn’t want to get up this morning and I almost fell for the “I’ll just do it later.” Often that later we think we have slips away. The hardest part of this month-long challenge is just getting up and going. I promise once you start moving you won’t regret it.

Remember, running shouldn’t hurt. If it does, slow down; walk. We are counting miles; not minutes. Take time to enjoy your movement and remember why you are moving.

I love having a reason to move. ALSF gives us that reason. Take time to read the Featured Heroes’ stories. Children can teach us so much, but these heroes emulate values that we often struggle with as adults. Strength, determination, humility, and most of all grace.

Walk…today, tomorrow, this month. Enjoy your journey.
