Two years ago, Clayton was found to have hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer that affects one in a million children. At just three, he began eight months of treatment, but the disease's impact on his liver was severe. At four, he received a life-saving liver transplant. Today, Clayton shows no signs of the disease.
Clayton has a future because of the families, researchers, and communities who fought for progress, funded research, and made better outcomes possible. But there's still so much more to be done.
Every day, 800 children worldwide are found to have cancer. That’s nearly 300,000 new cases each year in kids under 20. Yet less than 4% of the federal cancer research money is used for childhood cancer. And just a fraction of that goes to rare cancers like hepatoblastoma. Clayton, for example, was treated with chemotherapy developed for adults back in the 1970s.
Our kids deserve better.
In Clayton's honor, we're raising money to help research for hepatoblastoma. We hope to help make treatments safer, more effective, and better for the children who will be diagnosed after him.
Your donation today can make a meaningful difference for kids with cancer and the families who love them.
