Only 4% of government funding is allocated for pediatric cancer research and every day 47 kids are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. In May of 2024 Nolan's sister (Madi or commonly known as "Sister") was one of those 47 kids diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. Nolan was 3 at the time of her diagnosis so it was hard to describe to him what she was going through. He knew that sister was sick and Dad had to be at the doctor/hospital a lot with her. Nolan has witnessed many hardships the good, bad and ugly. Visits to the hospital were not allowed due to hospital rules and to prevent Sister from getting sick due to her low immunity. He was allowed only 1 visit in her 4 month hospital stay. Just like his sister Nolan has been a trooper this year. He colored pictures for Sister, rallied his class to write cards, FaceTimed and never gave mom & dad a hard time.
Now with Madi in remission, it is important to our family that we do more than just sit with this experience of having a child/sister with cancer and we use our voice to give back to the pediatric cancer community in any way we can.
Nolan is holding a lemonade stand fundraiser to help "Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation" move one step closer to finding a cure for all children like Sister with cancer! You can help by attending the stand or making a donation right to this page. The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood Ewing Sarcoma. Let's all come together to support our "Brothers" and "Sisters" in the Childhood Cancer community! Thanks for your support!
