Braxton Adkins – LEGO® master and ninja fan – held a lemonade stand with his family on September 28. They were celebrating a wonderful milestone – Braxton, age 6, was in remission after completing treatment for acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), a form of leukemia common in children. Braxton’s family hosted the lemonade stand to give hope to those still fighting childhood cancer. They plan to hold a stand every year.

Braxton was only two and a half when he was diagnosed after having recurrent fevers. He went through three years of chemotherapy, three years of steroids and numerous spinal taps with chemo. He also took an oral chemotherapy daily for the last two years of his treatment.

His mom says, “Braxton has always had the best attitude. He has been all smiles and ‘superhero’ brave through every hospitalization and through every stick and poke. His first love has always been church even when he was so sick that he couldn't sit up.”

His family wishes for a healthy and happy future for their bright, joyful and spunky son. They also hope for a cure for childhood cancer. Braxton’s mom says, “I don't want other children to have to go through what Braxton went through, so I will do what I can to help find that ‘cure.’”

Quote from Hero: "I beat it.... ninja style!"
