Antonio, aka Tony, is a strong, positive, happy and funny boy who loves Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob and monster trucks.

The day after Thanksgiving, 7-year-old Tony woke up crying with a headache. The headache persisted and after getting sick to his stomach, his mother took him to the hospital near their home. It was here, to everyone’s shock, that Tony was diagnosed with a tumor. Tony was transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and there the doctors told his family that he had brain cancer.

Tony had surgery but as a result, he lost the ability to move his left side. He underwent therapy and oncotherapy to help get his body moving again. Tony completed six weeks of radiation and received chemotherapy treatments for a year.

His mom is proud of how Tony kept a positive outlook and stayed tough during difficult treatments.

Sadly, in 2018, Tony passed away.

Hero Quote: “We are God’s warriors,  that's why he picks the toughest ones.”

Katana was a creative spirit, sharing stories and developing movies in her head with her action figures. Her imagination ran wild and her heart was big. While she passed away at just 3 from leukemia, her parents continue to raise awareness in her honor.
At 15 months old, August was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma. By the time her family found out, she was basically blind. ALSF's Travel For Care program helped August get to the treatments she needed, and today she is 3 years old and can see!
