Learn More »Logan is a super baby! Since birth, he has always been super chill, content, and happy despite the obstacles he’s faced. Logan is always smiling and finds endless joy all around him. He loves to be around people (especially his doctors and nurses). At home, he lights up when watching his doggies and absolutely adores splashing in the bath. Logan is very affectionate and loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses. He melts his family’s hearts and brings such joy to all who are around him.
Logan was born with a large mass attached to the upper right-side of his nose and under his right eye. Upon birth, doctors and pediatricians assumed that Logan had a hemangioma and did an ultrasound on his face. The results weren't concerning, but then the mass started to bleed. A pediatric dermatologist knew immediately that the mass wasn't a hemangioma. Logan was sent to the Emergency Room, and little did he or his parents know, but they would be admitted to the hospital and stay for the next 11 days.
The waiting was excruciating as Logan’s parents watched their newborn undergo endless tests and procedures including a CT scan, MRI, and biopsy under anesthesia. At just 13 days old, Logan was finally diagnosed with stage 3 group 3 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.
Since he was 15 days old, Logan has been receiving VAC chemotherapy and blood transfusions. In August 2025, Logan also underwent two surgeries: one to remove the tumor and another to ensure clean margins and reconstruct his face. He continues chemo in hopes that he will not need to radiate his face, as this could be detrimental to his growth and long-term health. Today, little Logan is still fighting.
During their long stay at the hospital, Logan’s parents recalled looking back at Logan's 3D ultrasounds and seeing the tumor in some of the imaging. It was devastating, confusing, and frustrating. “We hope that one day, cancer research will be so comprehensive that families will not be surprised to have a baby born with cancer,” said Sarah, Logan’s mom. “We know a diagnosis before birth wouldn't have changed the outcome, but we at least could have been prepared and been immediately admitted for treatment.”
More than anything, Logan’s family just wants him to live a full, happy, healthy, and long life. They pray that he can enjoy a somewhat “typical” childhood, and grow stronger with each passing day.
“Logan is our hero because he was born into a battle that he didn't choose to fight, yet he's handled treatment and all of the challenges that come with it with incredible strength, resiliency, and joy,” said Sarah. “We can't get over how happy his spirit remains despite all of the things he has been through. His happy demeanor keeps us going when things are hard.”
To those families who may also be experiencing a childhood cancer diagnosis, Sarah says, “You are stronger than you think and will do incredibly hard things because you have to. Know that you are not alone and that there are people willing to connect with you and help bring you understanding, hope, and strength especially during difficult times.”
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) has helped Logan’s family know they’re not alone. They have received family services such as the ALSF Treatment Journal organizer, “Alex and the Amazing Lemonade Stand" children’s book, The Childhood Cancer Guides, and the ALSF School Guide.
“ALSF not only brings our family hope that a cure will be found, but also inspires us to be advocates for childhood cancer awareness and to highlight the strength of our little fighter and all of the fighters out there,” said Sarah.
