Breeonne is a 30-year-old two-time cancer survivor. She is a loving, giving, spontaneous, outgoing, focused, determined and down-to-earth person. What you see is what you get with Bree!

It wasn’t until Bree was 19 years old and in her first semester of college that she was diagnosed with stage 4 invasive thymoma cancer, a rare form of gland cancer, in 2012. Bree had woken up to a normal day when she found out about the mass. As the day went on, she started to have chest pain. The pain didn’t subside, so her mom, Minnie, took her to urgent care. She transferred to UH Seidman Cancer Center where a scan found the mass crushing her lung.

Bree received six rounds of chemotherapy in six months. When she finished chemo, she went to the University Hospital Indianapolis to undergo surgery. At that time, they removed her left lung, part of her heart sac and diaphragm. The surgery was a great success and she recovered in record time.

Fast forward to 2019. Bree was 26 years old, and cancer reared its ugly head again. This time, her hemoglobin levels were low, and she had to get four to six blood transfusions. Instead of doing rounds of chemo, she had to take the chemo pills from August through October. She also had 10 rounds of radiation once a week for a total of 10 weeks after she underwent surgery a second time to remove two of her ribs.

Today, Bree is doing great! She’s a proud mom to two beautiful boys, Carson and Carter, even when doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to conceive after chemo and failed an attempt at egg retrieval. She is a small business owner of a mobile nail salon called SALON2U where she and her team travel to homes, hospitals and offices all over northeast Ohio to provide nail service. Breeonne is also starting her own non-profit foundation (Salon2u 4U) while opening a school for women to obtain their nail licenses.

Breeonne is Minnie’s SHERO! She heard of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation through Flashes of Hope, a photography program for families with kids fighting cancer. Now, the two of them have each other, and lasting memories of Breeonne’s inspirational fight.
