My daughter Amanda "Janaye" White has been in remission from Wilm's tumor since April of 2000. She was only 5-years-old when diagnosed as stage IV and with the size of her kidney tumor (over four pounds) we were not given much hope. We did not give up or think negatively. At week 10 of treatment she was given a clean bill of health. She had another 16 chemotherapy treatments, per doctor’s orders. She has been steadily overcoming the many ailments that remain from such harsh treatments, especially the 10 radiation treatments that left serious scar tissue in both lungs.

She has gone on to be a happy, healthy teenager. She recently won the state title in karate sparring for 14-15 green belts in California. It is amazing to see a kid who was once too sick to get out of bed, break boards and bricks with her bare hands or feet!
