Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Receives $30,000 Grant from the Joy in Childhood Foundation in Celebration of Giving Tuesday

Funding will support programs that serve children battling cancer across the country.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) announced that it has received a $30,000 grant from the Joy in Childhood Foundation, which is powered by Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins, and brings the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness. Funding from the grant will support the Foundation’s Travel For Care program which helps families with transportation and hotel expenses when they must travel far from home for their child’s treatments.

“We’re so grateful for the grant we’re receiving from the Joy in Childhood Foundation,” said Liz Scott, Co-Executive Director of ALSF.  “Their support will help ensure that children will continue to receive programs/services such as the Travel For Care program that make a positive impact in their daily lives.”

ALSF is one of 150 organizations receiving a grant from The Joy in Childhood Foundation. In total, the Joy in Childhood Foundation is awarding $2 million to organizations nationwide in celebration of Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to global giving.

“We’re so excited to celebrate Giving Tuesday with nonprofit organizations like Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation  that share our commitment to bring joy to children in our local communities who are battling hunger or illness,” said Karen Raskopf, Co-Chair of the Joy in Childhood Foundation. “We know how critical the services provided by ALSF are to kids in the childhood cancer community, which is why we’re so proud to support their work.”

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $150 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 800 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
