King of Prussia, PA (September 16, 2019) In a continuing effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, Bob’s Discount Furniture will be hosting a lemonade stand at their King of Prussia store on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 from 11 am to 4 pm. The event will benefit childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and will be hosted in conjunction with students from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA who will be on-hand. The students constructed the stand over this past summer using funds provided by Bob’s.

Bob’s Discount Furniture has been a partner of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for four years. Their efforts to support ALSF also include volunteering at ALSF’s annual Telethon, raising money through in-store campaigns and collecting donations at the Eagle’s Training Camp.

“Caring for the community – especially causes related to kids – has been a core value of Bob’s since we opened our doors nearly 30 years ago,” said John Weldon, chief operating officer of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We’re proud to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation through a variety of initiatives, including our annual in-store fundraising, this year’s training camp activation with the Philadelphia Eagles, and now this pop-up lemonade stand created by Mount Saint Joseph Academy for our King of Prussia store.”

The funds raised at the pop-up stand will be combined with monies raised at Eagles Training and Bob’s in-store fundraising during the third quarter. In 2018, Bob’s raised $85,000 in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada raising more than $200 million so far, funding nearly 1,000 research projects and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
