In a continuing effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, Bob’s Discount Furniture will match up to $75,000 in donations received in their cafes for a maximum contribution of up to $150,000 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) from July through September, 2020.
Bob’s Discount Furniture has been a partner of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for five years. Their efforts to support ALSF also include volunteering at ALSF’s annual Telethon, raising money through in-store campaigns and collecting donations at the Eagle’s Training Camp.
“Bob’s Discount Furniture is deeply committed to helping children and families across America thrive, especially during these challenging times, said John Weldon, chief operating officer. “Our long-standing partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation allows us to provide support for critical activities in the fight against childhood cancer. We are thrilled to be fundraising in all our 129 stores coast-to-coast for the fifth year in a row.”
“Their generosity and commitment to the community is inspiring and aligns perfectly with ALSF’s mission to change the lives of children with cancer and their families,” said Liz Scott, co-executive director of ALSF. “In these uncertain times, we are especially grateful to Bob’s Discount Furniture for continuing to care about children with cancer.”
About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada raising more than $200 million so far, funding over 1,000 research projects and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
