From July 24 through August 30, 2020, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill restaurants will team up with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to take a stand against childhood cancers in a five-week fundraising campaign. Firebirds will donate all proceeds from every glass of lemonade sold and a portion of proceeds from every slice of Big Daddy Lemon Cake will also be donated to ALSF. This applies to orders placed through the DoorDash app and website as well.  In addition, Firebirds will be “Rounding up for a Cure” by providing guests with the opportunity to increase their check total to the nearest dollar amount with the difference donated to ALSF. In collaboration with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Firebirds will also donate $2 from the purchase of each Tito’s Lemonade Drop to ALSF during August. Additionally, on-demand delivery partner DoorDash, will be donating $5,000 to ALSF in support of our campaign.  Partners since 2012, Firebirds has donated a total of $1.9 million to ALSF.

“It’s in our DNA to be involved with and support the communities where we do business. It’s simply part of who we are as an organization,” said Stephen Loftis, vice president of marketing for Firebirds. “In 2012 we met Alex’s parents, Liz and Jay Scott, who continued their daughter’s mission after she succumbed to cancer at the age of eight. There was an immediate connection and we officially partnered with ALSF system-wide. Fast forward to today – Firebirds has raised over $1.9 million for ALSF and we expect to eclipse the $2 million mark in 2020 which happens to be the 20th anniversary for both our company and Alex’s first stand.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Firebirds for their commitment to community and childhood cancer families who need our help now more than ever,” said Liz Scott, co-executive director of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Alex’s mom. “We feel truly blessed to share the same passion for supporting families as the good folks at Firebirds and look forward to continuing to work together to provide funds for much needed research and services.”

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada raising more than $200 million so far, funding over 1,000 research projects and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
