The Lemon Ball, a Night of Inspiration and Celebration, Returns Saturday, January 19, 2019

ALSF’s annual gala celebrates the life and legacy of founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott and honors dedicated supporters

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) hosts The 13th Annual Lemon Ball on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 6:30 PM at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. The Lemon Ball is presented by Applebee’s, Northwestern Mutual and Volvo, with additional support from Diamond Sponsors Auntie Anne’s and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and Diamond Benefactors and event co-chairs Chip and Stephanie Olson.

Don your best formal wear to this “yellow tie” gala and join supporters of the Foundation for a night of amazing auctions, stories shared by childhood cancer heroes, memories of Alex and her inspirational legacy, fabulous food and dancing. Special awardees will also be recognized for their commitment to ALSF and the fight against childhood cancer. The Crystal Cup Award will be presented to two deserving recipients, an organization and individual: Auntie Anne’s and the Snyder family.

Crystal Cup Award Organization – Auntie Anne’s

Auntie Anne’s and ALSF have more than lemonade in common. Both founders started their enterprises with the same core belief that caring for others is critical to success. Auntie Anne's has continued their commitment to caring by raising and donating more than $4 million to childhood cancer research. At Auntie Anne's everyone works together to make this happen –franchisees, managers, crewmembers, suppliers, corporate associates and guests all do their part to continue their commitment to life-saving cancer research. Since September of 2011, ALSF has valued their relationship with Auntie Anne’s as charitable partners and one of its biggest supporters.

Crystal Cup Award Individual – Snyder Family

Fighting childhood cancer is not just a noble cause for the Snyder family; it’s a personal one. At 2 years old, Jeff and Kristy’s daughter Kennedy was diagnosed with a rare form of spinal cancer known as astrocytoma. At the time, she had a prognosis of surviving for 5 years, but thanks to critically-funded research, Kennedy is now a freshman at college. Jeff, Kristy, Kennedy and Nate have participated with ALSF in numerous ways, including through their own fundraising efforts to raise money for spinal cord tumors, holding stands, speaking at ALSF events and traveling to attend numerous events across the country. As an ALSF board member and fundraiser, Jeff played a critical role in bringing on Auntie Anne’s to the Foundation as a charitable partner in 2011.

The unforgettable evening kicks off with a reception full of amazing auction items before transitioning to a ballroom for a gourmet meal and meaningful onstage program. Everyone ends the night dancing away to a live band before heading home knowing their support made a huge impact for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
