In their continuing efforts to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, New York’s own Alex Guarnaschelli, of Butter Restaurant and The Food Network, along with Hosts Hillary Sterling, chef/owner of Vic’s and Amanda Cohen, chef/owner of Dirt Candy and Lekka, a vegan burger restaurant with shakes, fries and sides that will be opening at 81 Warren Street in early November, will welcome guests to The Great Chefs NYC on Wednesday, November 6 from 6:30-9:30 PM at Tribeca 360°. This stunning venue features dramatic 360 degree downtown city views and is not only a new location for Great Chefs NYC, it’s also the newest hot spot in town!  Presented by ALDI, Northwestern Mutual and Volvo, this exclusive culinary event will bring together over 25 superstar chefs from across the country to serve signature tasting dishes.  Celebrity mixologist, Neal Bodenheimer of New Orleans, will also prepare specialty cocktails.

Guarnaschelli, Cohen and Sterling call on their culinary friends and respected colleagues from New York City and across the U.S. to share their one-of-a-kind creations with foodies and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) supporters alike. Over 25 chefs will donate their time and talent to create delicious food samplings indicative of their own personal styles. Guests will have the opportunity to engage in casual conversations with their favorite chefs—including Guarnaschelli, Christian Petroni, Mark Iocono, Julie Cole, Ayesha Nurdjaja and many more—while tasting a wide range of world-class food and perfectly-paired drinks. Participating chefs are listed below.

“I attended my first Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation event a number of years ago and once I heard the story of this courageous little girl, I was transfixed,” said Chef Guarnaschelli. “We share the same name. I feel pride in that. I feel inspired to carry on what she started.”

In addition to the delicious food, drinks and fabulous auctions, Liz and Jay Scott, parents of ALSF founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott, will share the story of how Alex and her lemonade stands inspired a national fundraising movement leading to innovative childhood cancer research.

In 2005, Philadelphia Chef Marc Vetri and Business Partner Jeff Benjamin met Liz and Jay, were moved by Alex’s story and wanted to find a way to help. The first Great Chefs Event in Philadelphia was created, raising $50,000 for ALSF. The Great Chefs Event Philadelphia has inspired similar culinary fundraisers fighting childhood cancer in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. Since it debuted, The Great Chefs Event NYC (formerly known as Lemon: NYC) has helped to raise well over $1 million to help fight childhood cancer thanks to the generosity of the chefs and attendees.

Individual tickets for The Great Chefs Event NYC are $195 and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information, visit www.GreatChefsNYC.org.
