Tap Cancer Out Hosts 'Grappling for Good' Tour to Raise Money for Childhood Cancer

Tap Cancer Out is partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) for its ‘Grappling for Good’ tour, a competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) tournament series, to raise money for childhood cancer. The tour will kick-off on September 8 in Raleigh, NC and continue until the end of October in Downingtown, PA.

Competitors who are interested in participating can pay an entrance fee or fundraise for Tap Cancer Out, which will earn them perks like free entry, exclusive gear and more! The ‘Grappling for Good’ tour hopes to raise more than $300,000 for ALSF.

“With Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation by our side at each tour stop, we’re excited to expand the reach of our innovative tournaments to so many new markets,” said Tap Cancer Out Founder and Executive Director, Jon Thomas. “The Grappling for Good Tour will give thousands of grapplers the opportunity to fight for those in the fight of their lives while embodying Alex’s spirit of generosity.”

Tap Cancer Out has raised $1.2 million from BJJ tournament fundraisers since 2012, but this is the first year they are doing a seven week tour. They have chosen Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation as their beneficiary in 2018 and 2019.

The following are the dates for the seven week tour:

  • Raleigh, NC - September 8
  • New Orleans, LA - September 15
  • Orlando, FL - September 22
  • Austin, TX - September 29
  • St. Louis, MO – October 14
