Caroline is a small girl with dreams of making a big difference. She’s shown a lot of courage, and without ever knowing Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)'s Founder, Alex Scott, the two girls have traveled a similar path.

Upon returning from a family vacation, Caroline appeared unusually lethargic. Their family pediatrician knew something was very wrong and redirected them to the local emergency room for a more thorough examination. Late that night, Caroline received her official diagnosis: acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Caroline began treatment at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. After two and a half years of chemotherapy, she has entered remission. Her dad, Charles, is hopeful that this is the beginning of a long, happy and healthy life for his daughter.

Between the bravery she displayed in her cancer battle and her passion to help others who are still fighting, Caroline leaves everyone who knows her in awe. Her father has two powerful affirmations for any families who are facing a cancer diagnosis, “You can beat this, and it is not a death sentence.”

Caroline loves selling lemonade (or even hot chocolate in the colder months) to help raise money for pediatric cancer since some of her friends are still fighting. She and her family look to ALSF for the hope that one day anyone can beat cancer.

Hero Quote: “I wanted to help my friends who were still in the hospital.” – Caroline
