A team led by two Norwalk-based companies rallied together in the month of September to fight pediatric cancer by running 16,000 miles and raising $65,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
When Lisa Lewis’s friend told her about Alex’s Lemonade Stand Childhood Cancer Foundation five months ago, she’d never heard of it.
But once the opportunity to walk in support of a cure for cancer was presented, Lewis decided she wanted to walk 120 miles and raise $400 in support of her 12-year-old nephew.
The sixth annual Lemon Run Philadelphia, designed to raise funds and awareness for the battle against childhood cancer, returns to Memorial Hall in Fairmont Park Sunday, Nov. 9, at 8 a.m.

Student groups are working together to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand and help support families that have children who are fighting cancer. The students built and painted a custom lemonade stand that will be set up in the Campus Center during free period once a week for the rest of the semester.
MUSKEGON, Mich. — It’s been three months since 6-year-old Gavin Sima lost his three year-long battle with leukemia. But even in the face of such tremendous loss, supporters of Gavin and his family hoping to gain much more after coming together Saturday to raise money for “Alex’s Lemonade Stand,” a national foundation for pediatric cancer research, in memory and honor of Gavin.
