At 10 years, Alex's Lemonade Stand still serves research funding

Two young girls arrived at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia 11 years apart with the same kind of cancer.

One, 4-year-old Edie Gilger, lived to see her tumors shrink because of an innovative new drug therapy. Edie is in complete remission.

For that, she can thank the other girl, Alexandra Scott.

Matthews girls prepare for Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser

Lindsey Gatlin and Madelyn Tyrell will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand in their Brightmoor neighborhood on June 7.

National Lemonade Days is a three-day national event started in 2004 by Alexandra “Alex” Scott. She had been diagnosed at age 1 with neuroblastoma, a pediatric cancer.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —A young entrepreneur managed to sell more than $3,000 worth of lemonade in her St. Matthews neighborhood.

Five-year-old Whitney Cooper hosted Alex's Lemonade Stand, with all proceeds going to fight childhood cancer.

Lemonade Stand in Chaska Benefits Childhood Cancer Research

A lemonade stand in Chaska is raising money to benefit children's cancer research.

The Stepping Stones program at the SouthWest Metro Educational Cooperative is manning a lemonade stand for the third year in a row. Students are selling drinks from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at 401 E. 4th St. in Chaska.

Young IndyCar fan sells lemonade to fight childhood cancer

INDIANAPOLIS - One of IndyCar’s youngest fans is heading to his first Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, but he got an early taste of the track Wednesday -- all for a good cause.

Elliot Cox may only be 6 years old, but he has big dreams to one day be the youngest winner of the Indy 500.

"He said God made him to be a race car driver and I guess who am I to argue with that," his mom Amanda Cox said.
