Happy September 1! It is finally time to lace up your running (or walking or cycling!) shoes and start logging those miles for Alex’s Million Mile! 

 

With every mile, all month long, we will raise awareness of childhood cancer and raise funds for childhood cancer research that will lead to a cure. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15—this September, our 1 million miles will make a powerful impact in funding research into cures and making survival a reality for so many children. 

 

If you have not registered for Alex’s Million Mile yet, you can start your own team or join a team!

Inspiration from our Heroes

As you log miles this month, get inspired by our Gold Ribbon Reps (three of them are pictured above!). Each of these childhood cancer heroes represent a different type of childhood cancer. Read their stories, share on social media and get inspired to go farther than ever before.

 

Easy Mile Tracking 

Automatic mile tracking begins today. If you have not already, go to your page and select your method for tracking miles. You can choose from MapMyFitness, Fitbit or Manual Tracking. For more instructions on how to track your miles, check out our handy Mile Tracking guide on our website  

 

First Mile Kick-off 

Whereever you are, get out and walk your first mile today, September 1, at 3pm ET .The First Mile is a simple act—a global, simultaneous exercise to raise awareness of childhood cancer. Share your first mile pictures with us on Twitter and Instagram, using  the hashtag #Journey2aMillion. 

 

Get Social

Share Alex’s Million Mile on your blog! Update your social media profiles with our custom Alex’s Million Mile banners, covers and social media shareables. Tweet, post on Facebook and share on Instagram your progress all month long. Keep using the hashtag #Journey2aMillion, so the world sees how far we will go for a cure.
