     The Year to Remember (2004)

By: Marrianne Beltle

This year, we celebrate 20 Years of Alex's lemonade stands and her mission to end childhood cancer, one cup at a time. Tomorrow, we kick off Lemonade Days, our annual week of lemonade stands. Typically, we would have celebrated Lemonade Days with Alex’s "Original" Lemonade Stand, held at her former elementary school. But this year, well, everything has a changed.

Well, almost everything. We are all still dedicated to hosting lemonade stands — even if they look a little different than they did before. Alex believed that everyone can make a difference and she truly drove change. Who would have believed that a front yard lemonade stand could have done everything it has done for childhood cancer?!

To commemorate this, I've gathered some snapshots from lemonade stand events from the past few years. Please enjoy this fantastic Flashback Friday!

1.    Small Volunteers Make Big Impacts (2015)
Here we have some small volunteers hard at work! I love reading the reasons our supporters make it to Alex's "Original", be it their personal relationship with our heroes, or just to support a good cause.

2.    Special Guests Make Everything Sweet (2010)
And where would we be without some special guests? Some stand guests stretched it out with a certain purple dinosaur to keep up with the many planned activities. I'm confident the 2010 event was as memorable as it looks!

3.    Alex’s Original Dancing Crowd (2019)
Check out this dancing crowd from last year. This event is my favorite of our events, and I personally love the butterfly release the most. Just look at this little one's excitement! Talk about a #mood.

4.    The Year to Remember (2004)
Lastly, I had to include some memories from 2004. Family, friends, donors and camera crews gathered from all around for this very special occasion.

It's amazing to think how much time has passed and how much progress has been made! I am so proud to be a part of this legacy with all of you as well as everyone pictured here. The Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has made so many strides towards ending childhood cancer, and I know so many unimaginable advances are on the horizon.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is launching a social media campaign inspired by ALSF founder, Alex Scott’s positive outlook in times of uncertainty. We want to know how you are making lemonade out of lemons during this time - whether by learning new skills, getting creative, connecting with family or friends through video chat or doing something else that puts a sweet smile on your faces! Share your special moments with us on social media using the hashtag #MakeAlexsLemonade.
