Team A Stand For Hope

September 17, 2014

Team A Stand for Hope thinks there are a million reasons to get involved with Alex’s Million Mile - Run.Walk.Ride., but the best one of all is hope – hope for an end to childhood cancers and for Hope Bertelsen, adored by family and friends, who fought neuroblastoma strongly for over 11 years and inspired countless people through her life and her work as an ALSF Hero Ambassador. With her small stature, she packed a punch. Hope passed away on June 15, 2014 and Team A Stand for Hope continues her fight in her honor by walking, running and biking throughout the month of September to continue to give hope to all of those affected by childhood cancer.

Hope would be turning 24 this September 17, and continuing her fight has helped her loved ones to heal. Hope’s final wish was to donate her tumor to science where it will studied perpetually, hopefully helping researchers find better treatments, options or even a cure. Team A Stand for Hope couldn’t be more proud of the amazing life Hope led. Hope appeared on CBS3 in Philadelphia just a week before she passed away, fighting to the end to help spread awareness and hope.
