Laps for Lexie

September 25, 2014

Team Laps for Lexie is participating in Alex’s Million Mile in honor of their strong, brave childhood cancer hero Lexie Faith Cain. At 9 months old, Lexie was diagnosed with a very rare (1 in a million) type of hepatoblastoma (liver cancer). Two days before her first birthday, after 6 rounds of chemotherapy, Lexie underwent a living donor transplantation at Children’s Hospital Pittsburgh. Giving her the best birthday gift he could, Lexie’s dad was the donor. Now, 6 and a half years later, Lexie is a smart, beautiful 7 year old who is full of life and love!

Team Laps for Lexie is extremely enthusiastic to help raise childhood cancer awareness through Alex’s Million Mile and feel so fortunate to be walking, running and cycling next alongside their very own childhood cancer survivor. Lexie is an active participant and is logging miles herself with the hope that others will realize that kids get cancer too and no child should have to endure what she went through.
