Volunteer FAQ

Below are answers to some basic questions often asked about volunteering with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).  Also, feel free to contact our Volunteer Programs Manager with any questions at [email protected]

How old do you have to be to volunteer?
Office volunteers must be at least 13 years of age, with written consent for anyone under the age of 18. Volunteers under the age of 16 may volunteer for stand request events; however, an adult must accompany them. Special event volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Volunteers under the age of 18 may volunteer at some special events; however, an adult must accompany them.

Can I receive a letter of verification for my volunteer hours?
Yes. ALSF will verify volunteer hours for students or employees who need hours for school or work. Please note: if you are looking to fill adjudicated volunteer hours, ALSF will only accept adjudicated volunteer hours if they are the result of a summary offense, minor infraction, or misdemeanor, and only after we approve the volunteer. Adjudicated hours can only be filled by volunteering in our office or at an Alex’s Special Event.

Can my group (e.g., company, church group, organization) volunteer for ALSF?
Yes! We’re of the mindset, "the more the merrier!" For large groups of volunteers (groups exceeding five people) we suggest volunteering at one of our many special events or by hosting a grassroots fundraising event.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate large groups in our office, but we do sometimes have large mailings or packs that can be completed off-site.
