The September 2025 U.S. Presidential Executive Order “Unlocking Cures for Pediatric Cancer with Artificial Intelligence” significantly increased federal funding of the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative.²⁴⁰ This government investment opens the door for the study of how AI might support children with cancer through early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and beyond. Using AI has the potential to speed up discovery and allow for more precise medicine approaches to treatment. Because childhood cancers are rare and varied, diagnosing and studying them is challenging, which makes new approaches like AI especially promising. In the future, AI can be used to quickly review tumor data and match that data with potential molecules that could someday become treatments for kids with cancer.²⁴¹
