Ellie M, SuperSib

Ellie is a kind and sensitive 8-year-old with a big heart. She loves taking dance classes and doing acrobatics, but her favorite activity is being a big sister to her three younger siblings.

Ellie was 6 when her little brother, Drew, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at just 8 months old. She did her best to help take care of her younger siblings through the hard times, even when it was hard for them to understand why Drew needed to spend so much time in the hospital. Having a strong support system and programs like SuperSibs to help Ellie and her siblings feel seen was a big help while Drew was battling cancer.

Today, Drew shows no evidence of disease, but Ellie and her family continue to show their support for children fighting cancer by hosting lemonade stands, praying for Drew and sharing his story with family or friends.

Ellie never fails to serve the people around her, whether that’s as a helper, a friend or a sister.

“I am very thankful for ALSF and all they do for kids with cancer and for all they did for me and my family. I also like how they support the SuperSibs.” – Ellie
