Childhood Cancer Hero Dan Hammond

Dan Hammond in one of our heroes!  In this video, he and his mother Jody talk about how cancer affected him and how research over the years improved treatment options.

Dan was first diagnosed with an astro-cytoma spinal cord tumor at age 9. After bravely fighting his cancer for nearly 13 years, Dan sadly passed away peacefully on February 20, 2014, surrounded by family.

As a child, Dan met Alex Scott while being treated and was inspired by her spirit and willingness to help other children. He and his family have been supporters of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation since the beginning.
