Hi, my name is Liz, and I’m proud to be an Alex’s Lemonade Stand Hero and Ambassador. For as long as I can remember, I’ve spent my summers in Brigantine soaking in the sun, surf, and sand. But in 2018, everything changed when I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The next year and a half was a whirlwind of hospital visits and treatments at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. On July 4th, 2019, I was momentarily well enough to be discharged. I begged my doctors and parents to let me leave in time to see the fireworks from the Brigantine beach. I wasn’t strong enough to do cartwheels in the sand or hold a sparkler, but I was there, lying on a blanket with my family, watching the sky light up. In that moment, I felt like I was exactly where I belonged.Today, six years later, I’m proud to say that I am cancer-free. That’s thanks to the extraordinary care I received at CHOP and to the groundbreaking research made possible by organizations like Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. This summer, I’ll be back on the beach, surfing by day, stargazing by night, and I’m also hosting a fundraiser to give back. You can join me at Primal Surf Shop’s newest location, where I’ll be serving up lemonade to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.Every cup you buy helps fund research that brings us one step closer to a cure.Your donation gives kids like me, and their families, desperately needed hope.Thank you so much for your support.
