We are holding a fundraiser to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! You can join me by helping me plan this event, attending my event, or making a donation right to this page. We will be building a full size "sandcastle" lemonade stand on the 12th street beach in Ocean City Nj. We would love for you to join us. The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. There will be picture opportunities for you and your family once the castle is finished. We hope to see you there. If you can not attend we would really appreciate any donation amount to help us meet our goal. Thanks again in advance for your support. Here is our Featured Hero's story: On May 16th, Cristina, his mom, was at a doctor's visit for Conner's younger brother, Corbin. While the nurse was in the room, Cristina took the opportunity to ask the nurse about a small bump on Conner's leg. The nurse and doctor took a look and ordered an immediate X-ray. Unfortunately, the x-ray showed a growth on Conner's right femur, and the doctor delivered the news that it didn't look good. Two days later, they were able to get Conner in for a consult at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando. The Oncologist confirmed it looked like cancer and set appointments for an MRI & biopsy. The MRI took place the following Wednesday, with the biopsy following the next day. The results gave Connor's tumor a name, Osteosarcoma, and confirmed it was growing and aggressive. In the span of two weeks, Conner, Cristina and Justin went from planning their summer break to preparing to fight a battle with cancer. We are on week 11 of treatment. Round 7 of chemo is this Monday. Updated mri showed tumor is larger and he has some nodules in his lungs that will need to be removed down the road. Surgery to remove the bone and replace it with a prosthetic bone that will grow with him is august 26th. After surgery he will do PT to work the leg and more chemo. He has 29weeks of treatment we are at week 11
