Alex's Lemonade has helped us out so much! My son Lukas was diagnosed with Stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma in June of 2010. His treatment has taken us from our home hospital in Oregon to New York and then Seattle. It costs a lot to travel for treatment between the gas, food, and lodging. We were able to benefit from Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation's Travel For Care Program when we went to Seattle and the Ronald McDonald House was full. I was so scared when the house was full because I couldn’t afford to stay in hotels and that’s when I was told about this foundation! They paid for Lukas and me to stay in hotels for several appointments.  I am so thankful that they were here to be able to help us! I don’t know what I would have done without the foundation! Thank you Alex's Lemonade Stand!

Lukas is still undergoing treatment and most likely will for the rest of his life. He is stable now and is able to enjoy everyday life and go to school with his friends. His doctors and I are looking for more of a good quality of life than for a cure at this time. There are not many treatment options available to him. But until there’s something more we will never give up :)
