Happy Lemonade Days!

Last week, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation supporters kicked off Lemonade Days. Traditionally, Lemonade Days is a week of front yard and community lemonade stands. This year, of course, is a little different, but the generosity and creativity from stand hosts is bigger than ever. From hosting virtual events to offering drive-by lemonade pick-up, Lemonade Days stand hosts are never short on ideas and inspiration!

It’s not too late to sign up for Lemonade Days at LemonadeDays.org. You can host a virtual or social-distance-friendly fundraiser any day and continue the legacy ALSF founder, Alex Scott, started.

Check out the creative ways stand hosts are fundraising to support childhood cancer research:

1. Lemonade All Week Long
The Corvallis Lemonade Stand is always a blast, but this year the family is taking over the entire week from 8/1-8/9 to share the lemonade fun! Each day, the family is posting a new challenge or activity—including virtual story time, a lemonade rock scavenger hunt, lemon volcanoes, a Kahoot trivia night and of course, a socially distant pop-up lemonade stand.

2. Teaching Children That Anything is Possible
Miss Heather’s Learning Center has been hosting lemonade stands since 2015. This year, Heather took the lemonade stand off the front yard and online. For Heather, Lemonade Days is not just about the lemonade, it is about teaching children that anything is possible in difficult times and that together we can help those who need it!

3. Sending Virtual Cups and Big Thank You's
Childhood cancer hero Lilly Ibottson is hosting her first ever virtual lemonade stand all week. Every donor gets a virtual cup of lemonade from Lilly, as well as a virtual thank you, helping remind her stand supporters that every donation counts in a big way!

4. Together, While Apart
Typically, the awesome kids from Incarnation Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church Sunday school, host their annual lemonade stand for ALSF together. But since physical togetherness is not possible this year, the kids are holding lemonade stands at several locations and virtually! Check out this awesome video they made to show how we can all be together, even when we are not in the same front yard.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is launching a social media campaign inspired by ALSF founder, Alex Scott’s positive outlook in times of uncertainty. We want to know how you are making lemonade out of lemons during this time - whether by learning new skills, getting creative, connecting with family or friends through video chat or doing something else that puts a sweet smile on your faces! Share your special moments with us on social media using the hashtag #MakeAlexsLemonade.
