Hosting a lemonade stand as a fundraiser was the inspired idea of ALSF Founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott. True to the spirit of the phrase “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” Alex, at age 4, held a lemonade stand to help find a cure for all childhood cancers, including her own. Since that time, more than 60,000 lemonade stands have been held across the country and around the world!
While volunteers hold stands throughout the year (often setting them up indoors during cold weather seasons), Lemonade Days is a time when volunteers everywhere can join forces and hold stands simultaneously across the country.
Lemonade Days is a meaningful, nationwide event that started in Alex’s front yard and has grown to front yards across America. Since Lemonade Days began in 2004, our supporters have raised more than $18.5 million for childhood cancer research, one cup at a time!
In 2017, we extended Lemonade Days from one weekend to a weeklong event! This allowed for a larger timeframe for stand hosts to pick a date for their lemonade stand. This event is open to all who want to participate by holding their own lemonade stands or events with no required registration fees. Gather your family, your co-workers or your friends and have fun creating your own fundraiser stand. See the difference WE can make, in one week, together!
