What is Lemonade Days?
Lemonade Days is a meaningful, nationwide event that started in the front yard of Alex Scott in 2004. Each year, we honor her legacy and dream of raising $1 million for kids with cancer by hosting this 9 day-long event in June. Thousands of supporters host their stands during this time to show their support for children with cancer and continue fighting for a cure.
Who was Alex?
Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) is the founder of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. She was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer, before her first birthday. At age 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. She reached her goal of raising $1 million before passing away at the age of 8. Read more about her here.
Can I hold a stand outside of Lemonade Days?
Absolutely – childhood cancer never lets up and we don't either! We encourage our stand hosts to hold a lemonade stand or other type of fundraising event any time that works for them. Please check out the Get Involved page for fundraiser ideas outside of Lemonade Days.
Can anyone hold a stand?
Yes! We believe that everyone can make a difference, and we encourage everyone to get involved. Lemonade stands have been organized by families, businesses, schools, and more, and we love to work with people of all ages. You should register your stand through our website beforehand so one of our coaches can send materials and help you in your efforts. By registering, you can also encourage people who can't visit your stand or event in person to donate online.
How does the money I raise help kids with cancer?
Your donations help to fund new and innovative research projects searching for new cures for all types of childhood cancer. You are also providing support to families affected by childhood cancer through our other programs like Travel for Care, SuperSibs, and The Childhood Cancer Guides. Learn more about how your donation helps here.
What is included in my fundraising kit?
Lemonade Days fundraising kits may vary, but they generally include the following:
- A guide booklet and other resources for planning your stand
- Posters, banners, and other items to decorate your stand
- Information about Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and childhood cancer
- Fun extras like tattoos, stickers, and wristbands!
Where is my fundraising kit?
If you chose to receive a fundraising kit during the registration process, it will be sent as we get closer to the event. We begin sending out Lemonade Days kits in May, starting with stands that registered first. If you register your stand in May or June, you can expect to receive it about 5 – 10 days from the date you registered. Please note that Lemonade Days kits are sent via UPS and cannot be sent to a PO Box. If you have questions about your kit, please contact your stand coach or email [email protected].
How do I get additional supplies for my stand?
We recommend asking local businesses to donate supplies such as lemonade and other things you may need for your stand. Ask your coach for a letter that acknowledges your partnership with ALSF that you can use to ask for donations. We also have some additional supplies available for purchase in our gift shop.
Do I need to build a lemonade stand?
No, you can use any table or surface available for your stand. Your fundraising kit includes banners and posters to help decorate, but don’t be afraid to get creative! If you would like to build your own stand, check out our Stand Construction Blueprint.
Can I print my own materials using your logos?
Yes, we encourage stand hosts to design their own banners, flyers or signs and incorporate our logos. You can find our logos and some extra printable materials on our Downloads page.
How do I cancel or change the date of my event?
If you need to reschedule or cancel your event, please contact your Event Coach or email [email protected]. You can also change the date of your event by logging into your account, going to your fundraising page, and choosing “Manage Your Page” then “Edit this Fundraising Page”.
How much should I charge for lemonade?
We recommend that stand hosts give away lemonade in exchange for donations. Let your visitors know why you are hosting a stand and how their money will help children with cancer. This will encourage generosity and allow those who may not have money to enjoy a cup of lemonade and learn about Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and childhood cancer. If you feel more comfortable setting a price, you can choose a cost that seems appropriate for your event.
How can people donate to my stand?
There are many ways for visitors to donate to your event. The following are some popular forms of donations:
- Check, made out to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Your Event ID is a 7-digit number we use to make sure the funds you send us are credited to your event. This can be found at the top of your fundraising page. If you are having trouble finding it, please ask your Event Coach or contact [email protected].
