A message from Jay and Liz Scott, Alex's Parents:

Many of you think of Alex as a hero – the sweet and courageous lemonade girl who inspired others to help children with cancer. Although she did not get the chance to live a long life, she showed us what it means to live a full life. Her bravery, strength and love of life continue to inspire us every day. She is indeed our hero!

Since Alex was diagnosed in 1997, millions more children worldwide have suffered because of cancer. These kids all have hopes and dreams of long lives. They have parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and cousins who cherish them. They all inspire those who know them with their bravery, strength, and love of life. They are all heroes.

Declan was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma at 3 years old. His dream was to turn 5 so he could ride the school bus. He underwent an aggressive chemotherapy treatment to fight for his life, and managed to play and spread joy every day, like a true hero.

Arnav was a U.S. Junior National Cyclist who competed in local, regional and national events. When his left leg and calf started bothering him, his parents thought it was due to his training regimen. Then, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

Cam loves sports, but had to put baseball practice on hold when he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. A growing lump on his leg, which he nicknamed Sparky, would not go away. Displaying incredible strength, Cam powered through surgery and treatment.

On Thanksgiving Day, Eli’s family travelled to spend the day with family, but Eli became sick in the car and had to go home with his dad.
Lyla is a fun loving, energetic 3-year-old. She loves music and dancing, especially Katy Perry and Nick Jonas. Lyla and her two-year-old sister Nora love to dance and sing around the house.
Riva is a very social girl. She is always smiling and laughing, and enjoys the company of other kids. Riva is a happy toddler, and likes taking stroller rides, listening to music and reading books. Riva was diagnosed on Valentine's Day 2015.
Andrew is a very active little boy. He loves to play and get into trouble with his twin brother Alex. Andrew and Alex are very close; they love to play, talk, run, and fight all day long. Andrew loves food, especially spaghetti.
Nicholas began kindergarten in September 2013 and several weeks later, he began to complain about pain during urination. However, a urologist said everything was fine. On the 26th of September, Nicholas was taken to the ER with stomach pain.
Tamaria Sparrow is interested in typical teenage stuff. Seventeen years old, Tamaria loves clothes, fashion, jewelry, hair and make-up. In March 2014, Tamaria went to the doctor for a regular check-up and her doctor found a lump on her throat.
Cora was truly a little princess: she loved wearing pretty dresses and decorative shoes, and loved painting her nails! She even taught herself to apply false nails and apply exciting nail decorations.
Tyler is a happy 6 year old who loves Superman, Elmo and Blues Clues, as well as riding his bike and listening to Kidz Bop.
David is a spirited 12-year old who enjoys Legos, arts and crafts and soccer. He loves armadillos, the minions, Navy football and dreams of being a member of the bomb squad.
Danielle is only 9 months old but she is quite a little character. Her favorite thing to do is squeal in delight at the world around her.
Ronald was a friend to everyone and was wise beyond his years. He loved spending time with his friends, playing soccer, building Legos and playing video games. He sadly passed away on January 4, 2018.
Madeline is a bubbly, outgoing, caring 9-year-old who is smart and fierce. Madeline likes the Disney Channel, playing volleyball, singing and Girl Scouts. When it comes to food, she’s pro-Peeps and anti-broccoli.
Alexandra "Alex" Scott was born in Manchester, Connecticut on January 18, 1996.
Morgan was incredibly shy during her first two years of life, so shy that she could not leave her mother’s side without tears. Shortly after turning 2, Morgan was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma.
Isaac just recently celebrated his first birthday and is as happy as can be. He is a little boy who is always smiling and laughing. His mother, Candise, says his name means "he laughs," which suits him perfectly.
Owen is a sweet 8 month old baby boy. He loves people and is always ready to greet people with a huge smile, even from a hospital bed.
