A message from Jay and Liz Scott, Alex's Parents:

Many of you think of Alex as a hero – the sweet and courageous lemonade girl who inspired others to help children with cancer. Although she did not get the chance to live a long life, she showed us what it means to live a full life. Her bravery, strength and love of life continue to inspire us every day. She is indeed our hero!

Since Alex was diagnosed in 1997, millions more children worldwide have suffered because of cancer. These kids all have hopes and dreams of long lives. They have parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and cousins who cherish them. They all inspire those who know them with their bravery, strength, and love of life. They are all heroes.

Ellie was a sweet and sassy little girl who brought joy to everyone around her. Shortly after Ellie turned 2 years old, she was diagnosed with a rare leukemia called JMML. Sadly, Ellie passed away, but never lost her smile throughout her fight.

At 15 months old, August was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma. By the time her family found out, she was basically blind. ALSF's Travel For Care program helped August get to the treatments she needed, and today she is 3 years old and can see!

Brayden is a sweet kid who loves to make others happy. Even as he continues to fight ganglioneuroblastoma, he keeps a selfless attitude throughout treatment. His family takes their lead from his perseverance and strength during his diagnosis.
Elijah
Elijah is a selfless kid with lofty goals to hike the Appalachian Trail before college. Meanwhile, he continues to fight CNS germinoma with the support of his family. He hopes to become a pediatric oncology nurse to help kids like him someday.
Tynece may be a shy girl, but she speaks her mind when needed. After months of consistent pain, doctors diagnosed her with medulloblastoma. Tynece’s toughness during treatment at her young age is a daily source of inspiration for her family.
Stephanie Yost
Stephanie is a caring soul who loves to volunteer with kids and play softball. After taking on an acute myelogenous leukemia diagnosis, she’s intent on becoming a pediatric oncology nurse to support children fighting this disease.
Cooper is an energetic kid who started feeling sick during a family vacation. Soon after, doctors discovered he had medulloblastoma. He finally finished treatment in March 2018, but his family continues to raise funds to help other kids fight cancer.
Owen maintained his joking personality even as he fought medulloblastoma. After several surgeries, he officially finished treatment in February 2018 and undergoes regular scans to ensure his cancer hasn’t returned.
Gary’s love of sports was matched only by his adoration for academics. He finished fourth in his class despite time-consuming treatments for rhabdomyosarcoma. Sadly, Gary passed away before graduating high school, but his selfless legacy lives on.
Sydney’s spunky personality always shone through, even as she bravely battled Burkitt’s lymphoma. While she passed away at age 13, her lively spirit will always be remembered lovingly by friends and family.

Kingsley, a sporty and resilient child, was 11 months old when seemingly endless tests revealed he had Wilms tumor. He had a kidney removed with the tumor and immediately began chemotherapy. Today, he's 14, soaring through school, and cancer-free!
Gabby is an artistic 10 year old who was diagnosed with T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August 2017. She recently returned to school and continues to improve in her fight with this disease. No matter the obstacle, she remains brave and strong.
At just 8 years old, Travis discovered he had a brain tumor. When doctors saw it starting to grow, they began chemotherapy that eliminated the cancer. Now, Travis has his heart set on becoming a pediatric neuro-oncologist to help kids like him.
Ryan is a jovial jokester who loves dinosaurs, movies and being best buds with his brother Dylan. His acute lymphoblastic leukemia diagnosis has caused setbacks for their family, but he continues to be a joyful kid even during treatment.
Malina was a typical kid before she gradually stopped walking. At the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with Ewing sarcoma. Now, Malina is 5 years old, cancer-free and still provides samples for a trial that could improve cancer detection for other kids.
Kaitlyn is a sweet, gentle 15 year old with a passion for water polo. During one match, she got hit in the head and went to the ER, where doctors discovered she had a brain tumor. Now, she continues to fight in hopes of returning to the pool one day.
A bubbly 7 year old, Haven is constantly trying new things, even after five years of fighting stage IV neuroblastoma. Her family continues to search for new treatments so that one day she can live a joyous life however she wishes.
Sullivan is a gifted kid who filled his days with piano and triathlons. After bouts of back pain, he went to the doctor and was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. It's been difficult for his family, but thankfully his scans have been clear since May 2017.
